Maximo Zavaleta, a sophomore at Martin Luther King High in California, placed second in the Sundown Showdown boys varsity 3-mile race in 14:53.8 at the ASICS Cool Breeze Invitational at the Pomona Fairplex in California. Zavaleta helped King finish fourth as a team with 218 points.
